This is a great opportunity for an analytical professional to make an impact at a fast growing European Tech company and help drive the business forward.

The Instapro Group is looking for a Director of financial planning & analysis to join its team. The team’s job is to help ensure that the company achieves best-in-class financial performance. We are an evidence-based organisation & rely on business & financial analysis & data science to make decisions. You will work with senior management & all departments in the company and develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners.

Our Finance department consists of approximately 20+ professionals across 4 European & one American hubs. Within the Finance department, the Financial Planning & Analysis team is responsible for core FP&A activities as well as supporting the whole company as needed.

This role is open in our London, Amsterdam, Aix en Provence and Berlin offices. You must be able to work on a hybrid capacity at one of these offices (exact split between home & office to be determined with your line manager) and travel a few times a year to our other European offices (assume once a quarter).


Your role includes the following:

  • Ongoing support of senior management & departmental teams with focus on key projects & initiatives, expense management, capital allocation, industry research, benchmarking, corporate structure & management & board reports & presentations
  • Participation in the Company’s P&L, Cash Flow and Balance sheet forecasting process, including management, maintenance & improvement of core models
  • Performance of frequent and complex ad hoc analytical assignments
  • Ongoing assessment, tracking and reporting of business performance with respect to financial, strategic and operational goals and initiatives with timely communication of opportunities and risks
  • Production & analysis of our key business metrics to measure performance (ROI analysis, budget gap analysis, performance analysis etc.) with a focus on unit economics
  • Development of strong relationships across the organisation
  • Assisting other finance functions as needed and mentoring the analyst team, which reports directly to you

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. Major in Finance or Quantitative discipline is a positive.
  • 7+ years of experience in business analytics and/or finance roles

  • Highly analytical with strong data and business analysis skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Financial statement analysis

  • Very good modelling skills - ability to model effectively in both Excel & Google sheets. Experience with other FP&A tools is a positive. Looker and/or Oracle, Essbase (or equivalents). Bonus points if some experience with SQL

  • Proactive, with a hands-on approach to problem solving. You are able to work independently & deal effectively with complex project

  • Strong written & oral communication & presentation skills

  • Comfortable working with very international and globally distributed teams

  • Fluency in English. Fluency in either German, French, Dutch or Italian is a positive

You need to already be based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

For applicants relocating to our German or Dutch offices, we provide financial relocation assistance and step-by-step guidance to support you in your relocation journey.

We also provide visa sponsorship for our German and Dutch offices. Currently, visa sponsorship for the French office is not possible.

What does an interviewing process generally look like?
