Job description

As an Engineering Manager, you will be empowering our engineers and serving them, making sure that their goals are clear, facilitating decision-making within the teams and ensuring that nothing prevents them from working. Furthermore, you will delegate as much as possible to your teams and focus on monitoring progress and identifying possible risks. You will also develop your teams by reviewing performance and supporting the growth of each engineer. You will contribute to our technology vision and strategy and to the success of the company autonomously and proactively with the aid of our agile approach to work.


You will lead the data engineering and Event tracking team consisting of experienced data professionals and back-end engineers. The Data engineering team is responsible for collecting, transforming, and presenting our data to provide our analysts and product managers with a fast and reliable data set. The event tracking team enables our customer-facing teams to create high-quality and consistent (Snowplow) events and process these into our data warehouse.
You will support the team in the direction and technical solution thinking. Next, you will coach each member in learning, experimenting, and improving their skills while working in a team environment.


Your role includes the following:

  • Leading engineers in a cross-functional team and growing high-performing inclusive teams

  • Creating growth plans for engineers and coaching them to further develop technical and people skills

  • Hiring and retaining the best engineers for your team to ensure the best team composition

  • Bringing context and data to teams to help them understand the direction the company is taking

  • Contributing to our technology vision and strategy and helping engineers make decisions in line with it

  • Become an advocate of our vision and support executing it together with the team, Product, UX and other department managers


Job requirements

  • You have strong experience in leading, developing and mentoring cross functional engineers in an agile environment

  • A solid background in software engineering, data and analytics

  • Experience in object-oriented and/or functional programming languages

  • You are proactive, organized and goal-oriented

  • Very good English skills complete your profile

Do you offer remote work?

You need to already be based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

We have a hybrid-work policy, which means that it’s up to you whether you prefer to work onsite or feel more comfortable working from home. However, in some roles, we might be looking for people living in the same region. You can have a look at what locations we are active in via the button below.

Do you offer a relocation package and visa sponsorship?

Yes and yes.

For applicants relocating to our German or Dutch offices, we provide financial relocation assistance and step-by-step guidance to support you in your relocation journey.

We also provide visa sponsorship for our German and Dutch offices. Currently, visa sponsorship for the French office is not possible.

What does an interviewing process generally look like?

Our interviewing processes can slightly differ depending on the department.
