We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded FP&A manager to join our finance team here at MyHammer and Instapro Group. Alongside the ‘Strategy & Analytics’ and ‘Accounting’ teams, you will support and facilitate strategic decision-making by preparing in-depth financial analyses and identifying opportunities for growth or increased efficiency.
As an FP&A manager, you will oversee and drive part of the financial planning and budgeting processes and use data to advise management on decisions such as how to improve performance, minimize risk or capture new opportunities from both within the company and within the external environment. Beyond the monthly responsibilities, you will also work on ad hoc projects relating to process optimization, market research, and business intelligence.
You will be part of a Euro-American team with colleagues across Europe and the US east coast. The position will be based in the Berlin office - with a hybrid office/home schedule and report to our head of FP&A at MyHammer.
Your role includes the following:
Support the annual budgeting processes and drive part of monthly/quarterly forecasting activities, working closely with the local FP&A head and other heads of the department
Work seamlessly with FP&A business counterparties and collaborate with diverse business partners to prepare analyses that will enhance various financial and business processes
Manage and develop financial models and reports - Build models from scratch and improve existing models
Take ownership of dedicated KPIs reporting and analyze data and KPIs to develop key insights for performance, risks, and opportunities
Support the month-end closing process by performing variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet items, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance and helping ensure monthly reporting is timely, complete, and accurate
Run inquiries on business outlook updates
Collaborate with the consolidation & reporting team in ensuring accurate and timely internal and external reporting
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team in ad-hoc projects
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or other relevant disciplines
4+/5+ years of experience in finance and analytics either in Consulting, Auditing, Corporate, Tech Scale-ups, Private Equity or Investment Banking settings
Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
Proven modeling skills with experience building and maintaining financial models
Strong knowledge of accounting, planning and closing processes, proficiency in financial analyses
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools and financial systems such as Looker, Oracle Essbase (or equivalents) - SQL knowledge is a plus
Proactive, with a hands-on approach to problem solving
Ability to drive transformation and implementation of new processes and tools
Strong organization and reporting skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Team player comfortable working on a very international environment and with globally distributed teams
Able to travel a few times a year to our other European offices
Very good English and German language skills
