Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Human Resources Generalist to support our employees in the Netherlands and help us build an aligned HR approach across our European businesses.
As part of the international HR team, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from Aix, Amsterdam, Berlin, and London, who share the same goal: to create the best possible experience for our employees and help enable them to achieve the company's mission.

We offer a hybrid working environment so you can balance working from home and with a diverse group of colleagues at our office in the heart of Amsterdam.


Your role includes the following: 

  • Act as a point of contact for employees' enquiries and escalation for complex topics
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on topics such as employee relations issues, HR policy, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • Manage long-term absenteeism, labour disputes, etc.
  • Manage maternity leave and parental leave requests
  • Oversee payroll and benefits execution
  • Manage employee and payroll records and HR databases
  • Maintain our employee handbook
  • In collaboration with the Employment Counsel, ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations
  • Manage local HR related communications
  • Work with the International HR team and Employment Counsel to help develop HR policies, processes and programmes and contribute to strategic HR initiatives


Job requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in the field of HR, psychology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in an operational HR role supporting employees in the Netherlands
  • Organised, detailed-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. Dutch language proficiency preferred
  • Strong empathy and high emotional intelligence, ability to build strong relationships with management and employees


Preferred competencies

  • Knowledge of Dutch labour law and health & safety regulations
  • Proficient using HR software and tools

What is our working model?

You need to based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

We have a hybrid-work model, which means that it’s up to you whether you prefer to work onsite or feel more comfortable working from home. What does an interviewing process generally look like?

Our interviewing processes can differ slightly depending on the department. The three steps that are consistent for every vacancy are a talk with the hiring manager at the beginning, a team interview in the middle, and an elevator interview at a later phase of the process. The best way to prepare for an elevator interview is to go over our values.
