Job description

As a Junior HR Generalist at HomeStars, part of Instapro Group, you will support our employees on a wide range of HR matters, manage our office and organize company social events.

As part of the international HR team, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from Aix-en-Provence, Amsterdam, Berlin, and London, who share the same goal: to create the best possible experience for our employees and help them achieve the company's mission.

We offer a hybrid working environment so you can balance working from home and at our office in the heart of Downtown Toronto.


Your role includes the following:

  • Act as the first point of contact for general HR enquiries
  • Provide HR admin support: process employment contracts and letters, log sickness absences, and maintain our HRIS
  • Organize office social events and coordinate events when colleagues visit from other offices
  • Oversee office operations: process mail and parcels, maintain office appearance, restock supplies, manage vendors, manage office-related communications etc.
  • Be the main point of contact for the building manager and concierge
  • Support the HR Manager on office health and safety regulation topics


Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in the field of HR or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in an operational HR role
  • Organized, detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong empathy and high emotional intelligence, ability to build strong relationships with management and employees
  • Experience in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • CHRP or in the process of obtaining an asset

Preferred competencies

  • Foundational knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000, and health & safety regulations
  • Foundational payroll and benefits knowledge an asset
  • Experience with HRIS Software

What is our working model?

You need to based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

We have a hybrid-work model, which means that it’s up to you whether you prefer to work onsite or feel more comfortable working from home. What does an interviewing process generally look like?

Our interviewing processes can differ slightly depending on the department. The three steps that are consistent for every vacancy are a talk with the hiring manager at the beginning, a team interview in the middle, and an elevator interview at a later phase of the process.
