Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic HR Generalist to support our employees in our Berlin office. 

Working as part of an international HR team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from the UK, France, the Netherlands, Canada and the US, all working towards creating an exceptional employee experience and supporting the group's mission.

Employment Type: Full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract

Key responsibilities: 

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee enquiries  

  • Provide HR support across the entire employee lifecycle 

  • Local absence management (recording sick leave, vacation, parental leave, etc)

  • Support employees and managers on HR processes and policies 

  • Manage performance cases, grievances, and BEM meetings

  • Manage employee and payroll records

  • Payroll preparation and support

  • Administer local benefits

  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports 

  • Manage local HR and office-related communications

  • Manage topics around office, events and travel management as required 

  • Ensure all HR processes comply with labour laws, internal policies, and best practices.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 

  • 2–4 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar HR role 

  • Strong knowledge of German employment law and HR best practices 

  • Employee relations case management experience

  • Fluent in German & English with strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong empathy and high emotional intelligence, ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees

  • Highly organised, service-oriented and proactive

  • Able to prioritise and complete tasks with minimal supervision

What is our working model?

You need to be based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

We have a hybrid-work model, which means that it’s up to you whether you prefer to work onsite or feel more comfortable working from home. What does an interviewing process generally look like?

Our interviewing processes can differ slightly depending on the department. The three steps that are consistent for every vacancy are a talk with the hiring manager at the beginning, a team interview in the middle, and an elevator interview at a later phase of the process.
