In this role, you will get to develop the backend for our platform in state-of-the-art technologies, which are used across our Instapro Group of companies and positively impact countless homeowners and tradespeople.
In the Core Marketplace area, your role will be to optimize job distribution in order to increase success rates and ensure jobs posted result in successful hires. By teaming up with backend, frontend, and mobile engineers, along with cross-functional experts from Product and UX, you will contribute to improving results and user satisfaction.
Our backend stack consists of PHP 8.3, Symfony 6.4, MySQL 8, RabbitMQ, Redis, GraphQL, Docker and Kubernetes, all running on AWS.
Our frontend stack consists of ReactJS, NextJS, ExpressJS, Apollo Client, CSS-in-JS, GraphQL, Webpack, Docker, and Kubernetes.
We keep a close eye on quality and make sure we test everything in an automated way with tools like PHPUnit, PHPStan, Phan, Cypress and Jest, all integrated into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Your role includes the following:
Collaborate effectively with the team to deliver high-quality solutions for our users
Coach and mentor developers in your team and help them grow
Be a present voice during product and technical discussions
Contribute to, maintain, and adhere to back-end development quality standards and best practices with other back-end developers
Understand data and context that drive decisions
Be proactive in suggesting improvements, ideas, solutions, and offering help
Bring your opinion to the table and be respectful to others while engaging in productive discussions
5+ years of experience developing web applications with PHP
Mastery of software design principles and back-end application architecture, with the knowledge of applying them in practice (preferably experience with Hexagonal Architecture and Domain Driven Design)
Experience with GraphQL, pipelines (particularly GitLab) and AWS.
Experience with test automation tools and frameworks
Experience with working as part of a cross-functional team
Good communication skills and a collaborative & emphatic mindset
