Job description

Instapro Group is looking for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to develop backend solutions and support frontend development in a state-of-the-art tech stack for our platform, which is used across the Instapro Group of companies and makes a positive impact on countless homeowners and tradespeople.


You will become a part of our ‘Payments’ team, exploring new opportunities through providing a smooth & secure “modern” user experience which allows Instapro to easily collect money that is due for our services. The “Payments” team’s mission is to Increase paid rate and customer retention by optimizing, simplifying and automating our processes and flows. Improve accounting reliability and increase internal efficiency

Team and Technology

You will work together with other developers, a service designer, a product manager, and a product analyst. A team of agile coaches will assist your team as well as an Engineering Manager and a Group Product Manager. You will also be a part of communities of practice (which we call guilds) with other developers across the company. Through those guilds, you will help to ensure the high quality of the software by introducing new technologies, improving and setting quality standards, exchanging experience, and taking on more extensive cross-team initiatives.


Our frontend stack consists of React, Next.js, Express, GraphQL, Apollo Client, CSS-in-JS, Webpack, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Our backend stack consists of PHP 8.3, Symfony 6.4, MySQL 8, RabbitMQ, Redis, GraphQL, Docker and Kubernetes, all running on AWS.
We keep a close eye on quality and make sure we test everything in an automated way with tools like PHPUnit, PHPStan, Phan, Cypress and Jest, all integrated into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.


Your role includes the following:

  • Collaborate effectively with the team to deliver high-quality solutions for our users

  • Contribute to, maintain, and adhere to frontend and backend development quality standards and best practices with other developers

  • Be proactive in suggesting ideas, solutions, improvements during product and technical discussions

  • Bring your opinions to the table and be respectful to others while engaging in productive conversations

  • Guide and support other engineers in their growth

  • Share your knowledge and experience with others and help them grow

Job requirements

  • Strong expertise in back-end technologies such as PHP

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP with exposure to serverless architecture, serverless functions and developing scalable, efficient serverless applications.

  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of software design principles and backend application architecture (preferably experience with Hexagonal Architecture and Domain Driven Design)

  • Experience developing accessible and performant web applications with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

  • Experience with ReactJS, NextJS and TypeScript

  • Experience test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Jest, Cypress)

  • Good communication skills and a collaborative & emphatic mindset

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Exposure to agile and lean development processes as part of a cross-functional team

  • Nice to have: Exposure to Payment providers and Payment good practices

What is our working model?

You need to based in one of our office locations or be willing to relocate to one of them.

We have a hybrid-work model, which means that it’s up to you whether you prefer to work onsite or feel more comfortable working from home.
