The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team provides cloud infrastructure solutions for teams (20+) to seamlessly run their services and for tradespeople and homeowners to seamlessly use them. You get to work with a team composed of a technical product manager and experienced engineers who are passionate about cloud technologies, distributed systems, and automation. Additionally, an engineering manager, a director of technical strategy & execution, and agile coaches will support your team.

We provision infrastructure using Terraform. We have AWS as a cloud provider and our platform consists of applications mostly running on EKS Kubernetes clusters while others run on Lambda. Additionally, we have utility tools written in Go that power our infrastructure.

Your role includes the following:

  • Collaborate effectively with the team and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that improve reliability, scalability, observability & monitoring, and performance

  • Eliminate toil through automation to optimize the operation of our infrastructure and services

  • Monitor the health and performance of our infrastructure

  • Respond and troubleshoot production incidents. Leading blameless post-mortem for learning and improvement

  • Enable engineers outside the team with their needs and promote industry best practices

  • Be proactive in suggesting improvements, ideas, knowledge, and offering help

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of back-end development and operations experience

  • AWS experience with a focus on services like EKS (Kubernetes) and Lambda, and broad expertise in Kubernetes cluster administration

  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Terraform Cloud)

  • Strong security knowledge (network, application, infrastructure, database)

  • Knowledge of protocols (TCP, HTTP, UDP, DNS, and TLS)

  • Observability tools experience (Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Jaeger)

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Bonus: Proven experience in scaling systems from thousands to millions of requests or expanding across regions, GitLab CI/CD, database performance tuning, Go programming
